Everything you need to know to set up your MOZA Flight hardware and take your first flight.

Before You Begin

Ensure you have the following ready before starting setup:

  • MOZA Flight hardware (base, grip, and any additional peripherals)
  • Power adapter and USB cable (included with your base)
  • A Windows PC running Windows 10 or later
  • Administrator access to install software
  • A stable internet connection for software and firmware downloads

Important: Always install MOZA Cockpit before connecting your flight hardware to the PC. Connecting hardware first may cause driver conflicts.

Step-by-Step Setup

1

Install MOZA Cockpit

Download the latest MOZA Cockpit software from the MOZA Cockpit Download page. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions. Launch MOZA Cockpit once installation completes.

2

Connect Your Hardware

Connect your MOZA flight base to power using the included power adapter. Then connect the base to your PC via USB. Windows will automatically detect the device — you should hear the USB connection chime. Mount your grip onto the base and secure it following the grip's quick-start guide. Connect any additional peripherals (throttle, rudder pedals, panels) to your PC via their USB ports.

3

Calibrate Your Base

In MOZA Cockpit, navigate to the flight base page. Click Calibrate and follow the on-screen guidance — move the stick through its full range of motion on all axes. This ensures accurate center detection and maximum travel range. For AB6 bases, also run Cogging Torque Calibration after calibration for smoother operation.

4

Update Firmware

Check for firmware updates in MOZA Cockpit. If an update is available, follow the prompts to install it. Do not disconnect the device during the update. See the Firmware Update Guide for detailed instructions.

5

Load a Game Preset

Launch your flight simulator. In MOZA Cockpit, select your game from the preset dropdown. Choose the recommended preset for your aircraft, or create a custom preset tailored to your preferences. The preset handles force feedback settings, button mappings, and telemetry configuration.

Verifying Your Setup

To confirm everything is working correctly:

  1. Open Game Controllers in Windows (press Win+R, type joy.cpl, press Enter)
  2. You should see your MOZA flight base listed (e.g., "MOZA AB6 FFB Base" or "MOZA AB9 FFB Base")
  3. Select it and click Properties — move the stick and press buttons to verify all inputs register correctly
  4. Launch your game and confirm the controls respond as expected

Tip: If the device is visible in Game Controllers but not in MOZA Cockpit, try running MOZA Cockpit as Administrator (right-click the shortcut → Run as administrator).

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I connect multiple MOZA Flight devices to the same PC?

Yes. MOZA Cockpit supports multiple devices simultaneously. Each device appears as a separate entry in the software, and you can configure them independently. Connect each device to its own USB port for optimal performance.

Do I need to run MOZA Cockpit while playing?

Yes. MOZA Cockpit must be running in the background for force feedback, telemetry, and custom settings to function. You can minimize it to the system tray after loading your preset.

Can I use MOZA Flight hardware on Xbox or PlayStation?

MOZA Flight hardware is designed for Windows PC. Console platforms (Xbox, PlayStation) are not currently supported.

How do I switch between different games or aircraft?

In MOZA Cockpit, select the appropriate preset from the dropdown menu before launching your game. You can also create and save custom presets for specific aircraft and switch between them at any time.
