Guidance on mounting MOZA Flight hardware: desktop mounts, rig integration, extension rods, cable management, and compatible accessories.

Desktop Mounting

MOZA flight bases can be mounted on a desktop using the included desktop mount or a compatible third-party mount:

  • Secure the base to the mount using the provided bolts — tighten evenly to avoid uneven pressure on the base housing
  • Position the mount so the stick has full, unobstructed travel in all directions
  • Ensure the desktop surface can support the forces generated by the base. Maximum force feedback torque can vibrate lightweight desks
  • The AB6 desktop mount may exhibit slight flex under extreme force — this is normal and does not affect performance

Important: When mounting the base to the lowest position on a desktop mount, ensure the stick grip does not strike the desk surface at full forward deflection. If it does, adjust the mount position or use a taller mounting point.

Rig / Cockpit Mounting

For permanent or semi-permanent installations in a sim rig or cockpit:

  • MOZA flight bases use standard mounting hole patterns compatible with most aluminum profile rigs
  • Refer to the product dimensions article for exact hole spacing and bolt sizes
  • Use M6 or M8 bolts appropriate for your rig's profile slots
  • Ensure the mounting surface is rigid — any flex in the rig will absorb and dampen force feedback effects
  • For the MTQ throttle, the base can be mounted horizontally or at an angle, depending on your cockpit layout

Extension Rods

Extension rods increase the distance between the base and the grip, providing more realistic control throw and finer control resolution:

  • Use only extensions with the correct data connector on both ends
  • After installing an extension, always recalibrate the base and run Cogging Torque Calibration
  • Extensions increase leverage — the same base torque will feel lighter at the grip with a longer extension. You may need to increase the force feedback strength to compensate
  • MOZA's Z-Axis Module can be used inline with extensions for twist-rudder functionality

Cables & Connections

Recommendation: Use only the official MOZA cables supplied with your hardware. Third-party USB or RJ11 cables may not meet the required specifications and can cause connectivity issues or data errors.

  • USB: Connect directly to PC USB ports (preferably USB 3.0/3.1) — avoid unpowered USB hubs
  • RJ11: Used for accessory connections (AY210, MTQ passthrough). These are data cables — do not substitute with telephone cables
  • Route cables to avoid tension or sharp bends that could damage connectors over time
  • Use cable management clips or ties to keep cables organized and prevent snagging during use

MTQ Throttle & Base Combined Mounting

The MTQ throttle base and AB6 flight base can share a mounting platform. Check the product dimension diagrams for compatible bolt patterns. Ensure adequate spacing between the throttle and stick to prevent interference during operation.
