MOZA Flight Stick Overview

MHG Grip

Premium grip with RGB lighting, customizable hats, and ergonomic design. Compatible with AB6 and AB9 bases.

MA3X Side Stick

F-16 style side-stick for force-sensing configurations. Compatible with AB9 base.

MFY Yoke

General aviation yoke for use with the AY210 Yoke Base.

Installing a MOZA Grip

  1. Align the grip connector with the mounting post on the base
  2. Slide the grip fully onto the post until it seats firmly
  3. Tighten the locking collar or screws to secure the grip
  4. Do not over-tighten — firm hand-tight is sufficient
  5. Power on the base and check that the grip is recognized in MOZA Cockpit

MHG Grip — Specific Setup

The MHG features RGB lighting and advanced hat switch configuration:

  • RGB Lights: Configure in MOZA Cockpit. The lights should illuminate when the grip is recognized. If the lights are on but the grip is not detected, check the base connection and recalibrate
  • Hat Switches: Each hat can be configured as either a POV hat (continuous input for view control) or as discrete buttons (4-way or 8-way presses). Configure this in MOZA Cockpit under the stick settings
  • Locking Screws: Three hex screws secure the grip to the base. Use the included hex key to tighten evenly

Using Third-Party Grips

MOZA flight bases use a standard flight sim grip interface. Many third-party grips with compatible mechanical and electrical connectors can be used:

  1. Ensure the third-party grip uses a compatible connector standard
  2. Mount the grip securely on the base post
  3. In MOZA Cockpit, navigate to the stick settings page
  4. Use the Manual Stick Configuration option to set up the grip
  5. Run calibration and cogging torque calibration after installation

Tip: When using a third-party grip for the first time, test all buttons and axes in Windows Game Controllers before entering a game. This helps identify any unmapped or misaligned controls.

Frequently Asked Questions

The grip is not recognized by MOZA Cockpit

Check that the grip is fully seated on the base post — it may not be making proper electrical contact. Remove and reinstall the grip, ensuring it is pushed completely onto the post. Tighten the locking mechanism. Power cycle the base. If still not recognized, test with another grip (if available) to isolate whether the issue is with the grip or the base.

How do I configure the MHG hat switch as a view control in DCS?

In MOZA Cockpit, set the hat switch to POV Mode. In DCS Controls, go to View and bind View Up/Down/Left/Right to the POV hat directions. For smooth panning, bind View Horizontal/Vertical to axes (if your hat supports analog mode) rather than discrete view commands.

The MH16 stick is reversed in-game (push forward = nose down instead of up)

In MOZA Cockpit, check the axis direction for pitch. You can invert the axis under the stick calibration page. Alternatively, in most games, enable Reverse Axis for the pitch binding in the game's control settings.
