FAQs
What encoder and torque does the R9 V3 have?
The R9 V3 features a 21-bit magnetic encoder with 2,097,152 steps per revolution (0.00017° angular resolution) and delivers 9 N·m of peak torque at 180W peak power. It uses a high-performance servo motor with an 18-slot / 16-pole configuration.
What's the difference between the R9 V1, V2, and V3?
The R9 V3 is the latest iteration with a 21-bit magnetic encoder, industrial-grade conductive slip ring (rated 5+ million revolutions), NexGen 4.0 FFB algorithm, and intelligent active cooling. Earlier versions may use different encoders and lack the upgraded slip ring and cooling system.
What's included in the R9 V3 box?
The R9 V3 box includes: R9 V3 DD wheelbase, power supply (110V~220V AC → 36V DC), USB cable, toolkit, user manual, and warranty card. A steering wheel, pedals, and mounting solution are sold separately.
How does the conductive slip ring work?
The R9 V3 features an industrial/automotive-grade conductive slip ring rated for over 5 million revolutions, enabling infinite high-speed rotation without cable tangling. It transmits power and data to the steering wheel wirelessly through the quick release.
What mounting options are available?
The R9 V3 supports 4-hole bottom mounting as standard. Optional side mounting and a table clamp are available. Dimensions are 240 × 157 × 124 mm.
What ports does the R9 V3 have?
Power, DC Input, Pedals, E-stop, USB, Dash, Shifter, and Handbrake. The E-stop switch is optional and sold separately.
Can I use the R9 V3 with consoles?
No. The R9 V3 is PC only (Windows 10/11). It does not support Xbox or PlayStation.
What cooling system does the R9 V3 use?
The R9 V3 features intelligent temperature monitoring with active cooling. The system regulates temperature in real-time to maintain consistent torque output during extended sessions.
