FAQs

What's the difference between the R12 V1 and V2?

The R12 V2 upgrades the encoder from 15-bit to 21-bit magnetic (2,097,152 PPR), adds a carbon fiber rotor for improved thermal efficiency, and includes front-mounted holes for optional front-mount installation. The V2 also benefits from refined FFB algorithms for slightly smoother detail, while both versions share the same 12 N·m peak torque and 216W power output.

What encoder and torque does the R12 have?

R12 V2: 21-bit magnetic encoder, 2,097,152 PPR, 0.00017° resolution. R12 V1: 15-bit encoder, 32,768 PPR. Both deliver 12 N·m peak torque at 216W. Weight is 7.5 kg; dimensions are 225.87 × 156.68 × 123.99 mm.

What materials is the R12 built with?

The R12 housing is aviation-grade aluminum alloy with automotive-grade paint and a laser-etched finish. The V2 features a carbon fiber-wrapped rotor designed to minimize eddy current losses and improve thermal efficiency.

What safety features does the R12 have?

The R12 includes Hands-off Protection with two modes: Mode 1 detects released hands, stops oscillation, and safely centers the wheel; Mode 2 supports drifting without interruption. An E-stop switch is available as an optional accessory (9 CAD).

What force feedback features does the R12 support?

The R12 uses MOZA's NexGen 4.0 FFB algorithm with iRacing 360Hz support, 19-point force feedback customization, a smart road feel equalizer, dynamic FFB curves, and preloaded game-specific profiles via MOZA Pit House. The MOZA mobile app allows on-the-fly adjustments and one-click profile transfers across devices.

What mounting options are available for the R12?

Both V1 and V2 support standard 4-hole bottom mounting compatible with most rigs and wheel stands. The V2 adds front-mounted holes for optional front-mount installation. A desk clamp is available separately.

What's included in the R12 box?

The R12 box includes: R12 DD wheelbase, power adapter (110V~220V AC → 36V DC), data cable, toolkit, user manual, and warranty card. Steering wheel and pedals are sold separately.

Can I use the R12 with Xbox or PlayStation?

Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One are supported when the R12 (V1 or V2) is paired with the MOZA ESX steering wheel. MOZA's Xbox license chip is embedded in the ESX wheel — attach it to any compatible R12 base and the full setup is recognized on Xbox. PlayStation is not supported. Without the ESX wheel, the R12 remains PC-only.

Switch modes by holding S1 + S2 on the ESX wheel for ~5 seconds.
