Hardware:

  • Wheel Base: MOZA R12

  • Steering Wheel: ES Wheel (from R5 Bundle)

  • Pedals: SRP Lite (connected directly to the R12 base)

  • PC Connection: USB directly to PC

  • Firmware: Latest available firmware installed

  • Pit House: Latest version

Problem Description:

I am experiencing random disconnects of input devices connected to my MOZA R12 base.

The issue started recently after approximately 3 months of normal operation with the R12. Before that, the system worked correctly. Updating to the latest firmware and Pit House version did not resolve the issue.

Symptoms:

During driving, the following happens randomly:

  • RPM LEDs/display on the steering wheel stop working.

  • All wheel buttons stop responding.

  • Paddle shifters stop responding.

  • SRP Lite pedals stop responding.

  • Sometimes the wheel appears to briefly reconnect by itself.

However:

  • Steering input continues to work normally.

  • Force Feedback remains fully active and unchanged.

  • Windows does not play any USB disconnect/reconnect sounds.

  • The wheel base does not appear to perform a full restart.

After the issue occurs and communication is restored:

  • Paddle shifters may appear permanently pressed in Pit House.

  • Pressing a single button can trigger multiple buttons simultaneously.

  • Input behavior becomes corrupted until the system recovers.

Additional Information:

The problem occurs randomly:

  • On a cold system and on a warm system.

  • At different times during use.

  • No clear pattern has been identified.

  • It is not related to firmware updates because the problem existed before and after updating.

Pedal Calibration Observation:

Previously, after a full power cycle of the base, the throttle pedal sometimes showed no response in the driver.

In Pit House calibration mode the throttle signal was visible, and after recalibrating the throttle pedal the issue disappeared.

Currently the throttle pedal works correctly after calibration, but the main disconnect issue remains.

Log Analysis:

I generated and attached a diagnostic log package.

In the DeviceLog files I found multiple entries similar to:

  • system reset: bor_reset

  • system reset: por_reset

  • system reset: pin_reset

The repeated "bor_reset" entries appear particularly concerning because they indicate Brown-Out Reset events.

Request:

Could you please review the attached logs and advise whether this behavior indicates:

  • A hardware issue with the R12 base

  • A power-related issue inside the base

  • A peripheral communication controller issue

  • Or another known problem

Please let me know if additional diagnostic information, videos, screenshots, or specific tests are required.
