Setup, adjustment, and troubleshooting guide for MOZA MRP Rudder Pedals.

Product Overview

MOZA flight rudder pedals provide precise yaw control with adjustable damping and braking feel. Both MRP models feature all-metal construction, Hall effect sensors for contactless position detection, and tool-free adjustability for a customized fit.

Adjustability

The rudder pedals feature several tool-free adjustments:

  • Pedal Angle: Adjust the angle of each pedal footplate
  • Pedal Spacing: Widen or narrow the distance between pedals
  • Damping Resistance: Turn the center damping knob to increase or decrease resistance — clockwise for more resistance, counterclockwise for less
  • Spring Tension: Adjust centering spring strength (if equipped)

Setup

  1. Place the pedal unit on a stable, non-slip surface
  2. Adjust the pedal spacing and angle to your preference
  3. Connect the USB cable to your PC
  4. Windows will detect the device automatically
  5. In MOZA Cockpit, run calibration by pressing each pedal fully and releasing
  6. Adjust the damping knob to your preferred resistance level

MRP Adjustable Damper: Some MRP models include an adjustable damper unit. This is typically included in the package. If your package does not include it, check the product listing for your specific variant.

Mounting

The rudder pedals can be used freestanding on the floor or mounted to a rig:

  • Freestanding: Place on a hard, flat surface. Ensure the unit does not slide — use the rubber feet or place against a wall for stability
  • Rig-Mounted: The pedal base includes mounting holes compatible with most aluminum profile rigs. Use M6 or M8 bolts (check your specific model for exact dimensions)

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the MRP rudder pedals force feedback?

No. MRP pedals are passive pedals with adjustable mechanical damping. They do not provide motorized force feedback. Yaw force feedback in flight simulation is typically achieved through the flight base stick, not the rudder pedals.

The pedals don't fully return to center

First, check for physical obstruction or cable interference. If the optional damper unit is installed, ensure it is not over-tightened — excessive damping can prevent full return. Recalibrate the pedals in MOZA Cockpit. If the issue persists, inspect the centering spring mechanism for damage or misalignment.

Can I use MRP pedals with third-party flight hardware?

Yes. The pedals connect directly to the PC via USB and function as a standard DirectInput device. They work independently of the MOZA ecosystem and can be used alongside any brand of flight base, throttle, or other peripherals. When used with MOZA Cockpit, you get integrated calibration and adjustment features.

Can the MRP pedals be used in the MOZA ecosystem alongside MOZA bases?

Absolutely. Connect the pedals and your MOZA flight base to your PC via their respective USB ports. MOZA Cockpit will recognize both devices and display them on separate configuration pages.

How do I adjust the pedal damping?

Locate the center damping adjustment knob on the pedal base. Turn clockwise to increase resistance and counterclockwise to decrease it. The adjustment is tool-free. For the damped model, the damper is typically located between the pedal arms and can be adjusted with the same knob.
